Digging deep into the LAY vaults, we have pulled out “The Beginning E.P.” This 3 tracker is from SF legend David Harness. The different songs on this e.p. exemplify why we all love David’s dj sets, they are diverse yet full of interesting twists and turns and of course they have plenty of soul and hip shakin’ rhythms. “Your Spirit” is a soulful garage gem and was a favorite of Little “Louie” Vega and Tony Humphries. “The Breakdown” goes back to David’s disco roots and is a happy percussive affair. Lastly, “Pumpin & Jumpin” is a darker big room track and was championed by Tedd Patterson.
